Doctors Hospital is Designated a Five-Star Hospital

Doctors Hospital of Laredo is proud to earn the Five-Star Overall Rating as designated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Compare system. The rating is based on performance across various measures of quality, including safety of care, readmission rate, mortality, timely and effective care and patient experience (as of April 28, 2021).

“It is an honor to be designated a Five-Star Hospital,” states Emma Montes-Ewing, CEO. “This is a testament recognizing our commitment to patient care and demonstrating the difference we are making for our Laredo community. It also signifies the focus, discipline and love we choose to bring to our workplace every single day as we enter the doors of our hospital and our community sites.”

Being a Five-Star Hospital is a designation earned by a select group of organizations. The following is the 2021 breakdown of Star ratings awarded in the country:

  • Only 14% (455) of hospitals in the country received 5 Stars
  • 29% received 4 Stars
  • 30% received 3 Stars
