Building on Our Commitment to Our Community

The ICU and cardiac rehab expansion continues to take shape.

Emergency Room

“As the community grows, we are committed to making upgrades and renovations to meet our patients’ needs,” says James Resendez, CEO of Doctors Hospital. Among the recent projects, the emergency room at Doctors Hospital was renovated with new flooring and paint to support a welcoming environment for patients. “Going to the emergency room can be stressful,” says Resendez. “We want our patients to feel comfortable and well cared for, from the way the facilities are maintained to the high quality of services provided by our staff.”

Another important project at the hospital—the ICU and cardiac rehab expansion—is moving ahead and is on schedule for completion at the end of the year. This involves adding eight ICU beds and constructing 4,000 square feet for a cardiac rehabilitation unit.

“This expansion and other initiatives support our efforts to provide comprehensive, quality care right here in the community,” says Resendez. “We want to ensure the best experience and outcomes for our patients, and investing in our facilities will help us do that.”

ER South: Making Care More Accessible

Another way Doctors Hospital is working to support the community’s growing needs is by providing clinics and facilities around the community to help make it easier for patients to get the care they need. Doctors Hospital Emergency Room (ER) South, located at 2901 Jaime Zapata Memorial Highway Laredo, is part of this network of care. It has provided valuable services since opening in September 2015, enabling residents of South Laredo to receive 24/7 emergency services closer to home.
