Challenge Your Way to Better Health

The Weight Loss and Wellness Center of Doctors Hospital of Laredo invites you to start your journey to better health with our FREE Walk/Run Weight-Loss Challenge. 

The eight-week Challenge involves participating in weekly nutrition education classes at Doctors Hospital, as well as running sessions led by RUNStrong Laredo, to prepare for Karina M. Villarreal Scholarship 5K Walk/Run on May 13 at Texas A&M International University.

    Prizes will be awarded at the 5K Walk/Run to: 

    • The challenger who lost the most weight
    • The challenger who lost the most inches
    • The first challenger who finishes the 5K Walk/Run

    Information and Registration

    Doctors Hospital of Laredo's Walk/Run Weight-Loss Challenge is open to adults age 18 and over who:

    • Are not taking weight-loss medications
    • Are not on a commercial diet plan
    • Have no history of weight-loss surgery

    Participants can register and weigh in on any of the following dates:

    • Wednesday, March 8 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. — Providence Health Center Main Lobby
    • Thursday, March 9 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. — Doctors Hospital of Laredo Lobby
    • Friday, March 10 from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. — Doctors Hospital of Laredo Lobby
    • Saturday, March 11 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. — Providence Health Center Main Lobby
    • Monday, March 13 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. — Providence Health Center Main Lobby
    • Tuesday, March 14 from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. — Doctors Hospital of Laredo Lobby 

    Contestants must attend nutrition education sessions led by a Doctors Hospital Health and Wellness Panel on Mondays, from March 20 through May 8, at Providence Health Center Main Lobby, 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. 

    A mandatory measurement and weigh-out will take place on Monday, May 8 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Providence Health Center Main Lobby.
