Caring for the Community Since 1974

DHL_35thAnniv_logo_webWhen a group of doctors, dentists and business executives joined forces in 1974 to build a new hospital, they had two missions: To give patients a choice and doctors a voice.

Over the next few years, the community would come to trust Doctors Hospital of Laredo for its advanced medical treatment, innovative spirit and dedication to providing personalized healthcare.

dv050041_webAs Doctors Hospital gained acceptance among doctors and patients, a thriving business community grew up around it. The hospital gradually added space and services, and in 2001, moved to a newly built facility at its current location on McPherson Road.

"Our challenge today is to build on our history and keep pace with our growing community," says Elmo Lopez, CEO of Doctors Hospital.

Here are just a few projects we have planned:

  • Expand cardiac services and the Radiology Department
  • Recruit new physicians and nurses
  • Add benefits and activities to our Senior Salud program, already 1,000 members strong, and create Kids Salud and #Med Salud programs to reach out to children and adults of all ages

The more than 700 people at Doctors Hospital—including doctors and staff who helped create the hospital 35 years ago—thank you for your support and look forward to serving you soon.
